Twinning for a Europe of citizens
200 participants from 20 towns attended the launch of the network "Europe schools", on 28 and 29 November 2008 in Saint-Alban (France).
The Europe schools project was created by the twinning committee of Saint-Alban. Its main feature is that in each town twinned with Saint-Alban, citizens meet to debate issues linked to European integration.
The chair of CEMR twinning network, Janusz Marszalek, was invited to the launch alongside Risto Raivio, head of the Europe for citizens programme at the European Commission.
Janusz Marszalek insisted on the relevance of twinning in Europe; he also spoke about CEMR's "100% twinning" website.
