Labour
Role of Local and Regional Governments
Local and Regional Governments are crucial in bridging the gap between national policies and local needs, providing tailored solutions to emerging changes in the labour market and digitalisation. They are uniquely positioned to tackle the evolving challenges at the intersection of labour practices and digital technologies.
Together with our members associations, we analyse the implications of EU policies on employment and skills development and identify opportunities to promote inclusive and sustainable growth within Local and Regional Governments.
Bridge the digital divide and make local and regional governments a driver for employment and digital transformation
Impact Goal Labour
To strengthen our advocacy and policy work, we build synergies with organizations and institutions that share our values and long-term objectives in the labour domain. Our approach is straightforward: mayors and local leaders are key drivers of transformation within their communities, engaging daily with civil society, businesses, students, and trade unions. At the European level, CEMR aims to break down silos and foster meaningful interactions with a wide range of organizations aligned with our agenda. Our goal is to enhance trust in local and regional governments and their national associations, ensuring they are well-supported in effectively addressing labour and digital transformation challenges.
