European Week of Regions and Cities: registration now open
Participate in the 2007 Open days "Making it happen – Regions and Cities deliver Growth and Jobs", in Brussels, from 8 to 11 October 2007.
This year's event will involve 212 regions and cities, including 16 European capitals,.from 33 countries. It is organised by the EU Committee of the Regions and the European Commission's Directorate General for Regional Policy.
The Open days will brings together EU decision-makers, national, local and regional politicians, policy experts and representatives of business, banking and civil society organisations. The events organised during the week will include some 150 seminars and workshops grouped around five themes:

Attracting investors: Regions and cities show how it works;

Proximity matters: Clusters and regional development;

Investing it wisely: Public-private partnerships and financial engineering;

Crossing borders: Networking and best practice supporting growth and jobs;

Checking delivery: How the new programmes are implemented.
eGovernment and eServices
Javier Ossandon, Honorary President of ELANET – the network of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR) on eGovernment and the Information Society – will participate in a session on how to improve quality and efficiency for eGovernment and eServices in the regions.
The workshop is planned to give useful information and advice for regional policy makers, planners and ICT experts what eGovernment and eServices mean in concrete words for all local public and private organisations. The workshop will take place on October 10, from 14:30 to 16:30.
Practical information
Participation in each of the 150 seminars and workshops of OPEN DAYS 2007 is free of charge. Registration is only possible online through the website of the Open Days 2007.
