Come join us in Bonn to learn more about how your municipality can adapt to climate change

Is your municipality struggling with getting adaptation to climate change in place or even getting started at all?  Are you in the middle of an adaptation development or implementation process and looking for support on operational.challenges?  Are you looking for some real life experience on how you can use scientific information and theoretical ideas for practical solutions?  Have you found solutions to your municipality’s challenges and want to share these with others in need?

If any of these questions ring true, you should join us at the Open European Day in the framework of the EU Cities Adapt conference, to be held in Berlin (Germany) on 3 June 2013, with a focus on the adaptation of climate change at the urban level.

Our policy adviser on climate, Marie Bullet, will speak at one of the workshops on multilevel governance and the support it can bring to local climate adaptation.  CEMR itself supports a further interpretation of multi-level governance via the setting-up of a system of governance in partnership between local, regional, national and European authorities.

The conference will take place in the context of the European Commission’s strategy on adaptation to climate change, published on 16 April 2013.  It is being organised by the European Commission, the European Environmental Agency and Local Governments for Sustainability (ICLEI), with the support of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR).
