The Council of European Municipalities and Regions is a democratic political organisation representing 60 national associations of Local and Regional Governments spanning 41 European countries. Each national association is allocated seats in the CEMR Policy Committee based on its country’s population.
Political appointments within CEMR are determined through a genuine bottom-up approach. The national associations of Local and Regional Governments are solely responsible for selecting their representatives for CEMR.
