Congress of municipal wireless networks (Cannes, 29/11 – 01/12/06)

The European congress of local wireless networks will take place in Cannes from 29 November to 1 December 2006.

The Wireless Cities congress aims to address the challenges European cities are faced with. How to deliver economic growth in line with the EU's Lisbon Strategy whilst reducing social exclusion and controlling tight budgets? How to improve the quality of life for your citizens whilst increasing the productivity and flexibility of your workforce? How to deliver public Internet access points and broadband connections?

The programme includes workshops on public-private partnerships, planning & implementing a municipal wireless network, wireless broadband access and egovernment, emergency services and public safety, transport and traffic…

Speakers will include the mayor of Cannes, Bernard Brochan; the mayor of Scottsburg (USA), the deputy mayor of Paris as well as representatives from Liverpool, Barcelona, Philadelphia and from the private sector.

Registration fees are €750 (+ VAT) for local government delegates, and €1,500 (+ VAT) for the private sector.
