Climate Star award 2004 : Local authorities responding to climate changes
The second edition of the Climate Star award has been launched. This year's theme will be renewable energies (solar power, wind power..).
European municipalities and cities having taken concrete measures to promote renewable energies – and thus having contributed to climate protection – are eligible to participate. In order to do so, candidates must return the registration form (see link below) by fax or post, by the end of 2004.
The award ceremony will take place in Baden (Austria) in February 2005.
The Climate Star award is an initiative by Climate Alliance, an association bringing together over 1,000 European towns and municipalities and indigenous peoples of the tropical forests. Their objective is to abate climate-endangering emission in the industrialised countries and to protect rainforests.
