This meeting aims to gather the political views of CEMR and PLATFORMA spokespersons, complementing the exchange held with representatives of CEMR member associations and national sections, which reaffirmed a strong, shared message: the 2030 Agenda remains valid, but its implementation has fallen short, as local realities, capacities, and financing have not been adequately recognised.
Building on these conclusions and on the priorities to be reflected in the forthcoming CEMR-PLATFORMA position paper to be adapted in late 2026, the aim is to continue this exchange at the political level. Through this dialogue, advocacy messages will be shaped, common positions aligned, and the voice of local and regional governments carried into the relevant EU and UN processes.
