New site: The facts and figures about the EU
What is the employment rate in each of the EU member states? How many Europeans have completed upper secondary education? Which of the EU member states releases the least emissions of CO2 in the atmosphere…?
The European Commission's website has a new category that aims at answering all these questions. Key facts and figures about the EU has been realised to explain the EU concept in a few words and to provide comparative data about it.
It is made of several entries (size and population of the EU, standard of living in the member states, education and research, the EU at work, transport energy and environment…). There is also an entry on the new member states and candidate countries.
The site is available in 10 languages.
