European neighbours’ day 2005 : Is your municipality taking part?
The third edition of the European neighbours' day will take place on 31 May 2005.
This initiative, launched in 1999 by the French association Immeubles en fête, gathers every last Tuesday of May, the inhabitants of one same building or area around a meal.
The European neighbours' day is often organised jointly by local governments, local trade associations and associations of inhabitants of a district. Over 3,500,000 people took part to the 2004 edition.
In order to be part of this initative, an annual membership fee is asked; it amounts to 900 euros for towns under 15,000 inhabitants, and 1800 euros for towns over 15,000 inhabitants.
More information available on the European neighbours' day's website.
