FEMP welcomes new president

Juan Ignacio Zoido, mayor of Sevilla, was elected president of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR)'s Spanish member association, on 24 September 2011.

"As the mayor of mayors, I ask that you join me in doubling our efforts, with your citizens at heart and solutions in mind. And that you work with the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces as a means of forcing government administrations to look at our towns and cities. All of them without exception. All equally."
Angel Fernandez was also elected at this occasion as the FEMP's new secretary general.
