CEMR General Assembly

The final panel debate is one of the Congress’ highlights which is to take place in Cadiz, Spain, between 26 and 28 September 2012. It will be held on Friday 28 September between 11:45 and 13:00 and will bring together high-level speakers to discuss some of the most pressing issues for local and regional authorities.  

In the current crisis-ridden context, Janusz Lewandowski, the European budget and financial programming commissioner, will demonstrate how the EU budget can help municipalities and regions.

His address will be followed by a panel debate with the following speakers:

– Annemarie Jorritsma, Co-President of CEMR, Mayor of Almere, President of the Association of Netherlands Municipalities
– Jo Leinen, Member of the European Parliament, President of the European Movement International
– Gunn Marit Helgesen, President of the Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities
– Ramón Luis Valcárcel Siso, President of the Committee of the Regions*
