Mission Implementation Platform

Mission Implementation Platform (MIP4Adapt)

January 2026 – June 2028

The need for climate support has never been more urgent. In 2023 alone, Europe recorded 47,690 additional heat‑related deaths, while climate‑related disasters have cost over €738 billion since 1980. A recent study estimates that €70 billion per year will be needed up to 2050 to adapt Europe to growing climate risks.

Against this backdrop, CEMR steps up its action by joining the EU Mission Implementation Platform for Adaptation to Climate Change (MIP4Adapt), supporting European regional and local governments in preparing and planning their adaptation pathways to climate resilience.

What does MIP4Adapt do?

  • Communicating the Mission’s progress and successes through the Portal, Newsletters, and active social media outreach.
  • Organising major events, including the annual Mission Forum and Regional Forums, to strengthen networks and momentum.
  • Operating a dedicated Helpdesk (Contact us), giving all interested stakeholders a clear entry point for assistance on climate adaptation.
  • Monitoring and reporting on progress (Reporting) to ensure the Mission stays on track and continues to deliver measurable impact.
